What You’ll Be Doing: Leading Grassroots Advocacy and Donor Engagement

As a Political Advocacy & Donor Outreach Team Lead Intern, you will play a leadership role in the campaign’s fundraising and advocacy efforts. You will oversee a team of donor outreach interns, helping coordinate communications with prospective supporters and ensuring outreach initiatives run efficiently. This position provides valuable exposure to political organizing, fundraising strategy, stakeholder engagement, and the congressional process while developing leadership and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Guide and support a team of donor outreach interns by assigning outreach goals, monitoring progress, and fostering a collaborative environment.

Donor Engagement Coordination: Oversee email outreach efforts to prospective donors, supporters, and community stakeholders while helping strengthen relationships that support campaign objectives.

Appointment Management: Coordinate and supervise the scheduling of meetings between campaign leadership and prospective donors, ensuring timely communication and follow-up.

Advocacy Outreach: Help connect supporters and advocacy organizations with campaign initiatives and policy priorities, expanding community engagement and grassroots participation.

Research & Prospecting: Identify prospective donors, advocacy groups, and community organizations aligned with the campaign’s mission and legislative goals.

Performance Tracking: Monitor outreach metrics, maintain accurate records of donor engagement activities, and provide regular updates to campaign leadership.

Training & Development: Assist in onboarding and mentoring new interns, sharing effective communication strategies and best practices for donor outreach and advocacy engagement.

Qualifications

Students or recent graduates in Political Science, Public Policy, Communications, Business, Public Administration, Marketing, or related fields.

Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Excellent written communication and professional email correspondence abilities.

Interest in political advocacy, fundraising, public affairs, or campaign operations.

Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate a remote team effectively.

Experience in leadership positions, student organizations, campaigns, advocacy groups, or volunteer management is a plus.

Ability to commit to a 4-month unpaid internship.
