About AddressHate
Hate speech online is growing faster than any organization can track by hand. AddressHate is building the tools to change that.
We are a public interest technology company at the intersection of research, AI, and policy. We build detection infrastructure and intelligence tools that help platforms, policymakers, educators, civil society organizations, and real people understand and counter digital hate in real time.
There is no good solution in the for-profit world for this problem, so we are building it. Our mission and the business are the same thing: the better we get at detecting hate, the more valuable our tools become to the world.
The Opportunity
This is a rare role: direct, daily proximity to a founder building something that matters.
AddressHate is at an inflection point transitioning from a well-funded research initiative into a technology company with a real product roadmap and real clients. The President needs a true right hand: someone who can hold the operational infrastructure together, manage a fundraising pipeline, and think strategically enough to know what deserves attention and what doesn't.
You won't just be executing. You'll be shaping how the organization runs. You'll sit in on the conversations that matter, draft the communications that open doors, and be the person who makes sure nothing falls through the cracks, so the President can stay focused on vision, relationships, and building the company.
This is fundamentally a high trust operator role focused on strategic execution, operational leverage, and fundraising momentum management. Calendar coordination and executive support are part of the function, but not the center of it
Core Responsibilities
Be the President's Right Hand
- Own the President's strategic prioritization: calendar, communications, priorities, and follow-through,
- Prepare her for every meeting: the right briefing, the right context, the right questions
- Anticipate what's coming before she asks: flag conflicts, chase outstanding items, surface bottlenecks with solutions already in hand
- Build enough organizational context to make independent judgment calls, knowing what deserves the President's attention, what can wait, and what should never reach her desk at all
- Be the connective tissue across AddressHate's growing portfolio, tech product development, research partnerships, symposia, Digital Hate Review, and events,so nothing falls through the cracks
Fundraising & Partnership Pipeline Ops
- Develop a deep understanding of AddressHate's strategy, positioning, and funding landscape, well enough to know who we should be talking to, what we should be saying, and when the moment is right
- Be the engine behind every funder, donor, and partner relationship: maintain a clear tracker with next steps, timing, and ownership so momentum never stalls
- Be the voice in the President's ear: "You reached out three weeks ago — here's exactly what to send next, and here's why it'll land"
- Draft follow-up communications that reflect our narrative
What We're Looking For
Required
- 4–7 years of experience, including at least 2–3 years directly supporting a founder, executive director, or C-suite executive
- Proven ability to manage up — holding a fast-moving principal accountable with warmth and confidence
- Experience with donor/funder pipeline management, moves management, or CRM-based tracking
- Proficiency with project management tools (Asana, Notion, Monday, Airtable, or equivalent)
- Exceptional written communication — you can draft a funder email or executive briefing with minimal direction
- Highly self-directed; comfortable building structure in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- Experience in nonprofit, advocacy, think tank, or early-stage startup contexts
Strongly Preferred
- Experience building operational systems from scratch (0-to-1)
- Familiarity with the nonprofit and philanthropic funding landscape
- Comfort using AI tools to enhance productivity and drafting
- Based in or near New York City
Why Now
