About State of Soccer TV

State of Soccer TV is a fast-growing soccer media platform covering global football culture, fan experiences, breaking stories, supporter communities, and original content leading into the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

As the World Cup arrives in North America, State of Soccer TV will be producing immersive on-the-ground coverage focused on international supporters, matchday atmospheres, fan culture, and the stories surrounding the world’s biggest sporting event.

We are now hiring three on-camera personalities to become part of our World Cup coverage team.

Internship Overview

This role is designed for creative, confident, soccer-obsessed content creators who are comfortable being on camera and interacting with fans in live environments.

Think of this role as a “man/woman on the street” World Cup correspondent. You will be responsible for capturing the energy, emotion, and culture surrounding the World Cup in your host city through interviews, reactions, storytelling, and fan-driven content.

You will interview international supporters, create engaging social-first videos, document fan atmospheres, and help bring the World Cup experience to life for audiences around the globe.

This is not just a production role — you will be one of the featured personalities representing State of Soccer TV throughout the tournament.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct interviews with international soccer fans during World Cup events and activations
  • Capture fan atmospheres, supporter culture, celebrations, chants, and matchday experiences
  • Serve as an on-camera personality for State of Soccer TV’s World Cup coverage
  • Create engaging short-form content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and X/Twitter
  • Edit your own social content at a high level
  • Identify creative storytelling opportunities around the tournament and your city
  • Work collaboratively with the State of Soccer TV content team throughout the World Cup
  • Submit completed content to Brian McDonough, Founder of State of Soccer TV, and the tournament Social Media Manager Intern for publishing and distribution

Requirements

  • Must currently live in a 2026 FIFA World Cup Host City
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of global soccer, international competitions, clubs, players, and supporter culture
  • Must be comfortable speaking on camera and interviewing strangers in public environments
  • Must be creative, outgoing, and confident in fast-paced live-event settings
  • Must have experience editing short-form social content
  • Must understand social media trends and sports storytelling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience creating soccer or sports content
  • Experience running personal or professional social media channels
  • Strong video editing abilities using CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar software
  • Existing content portfolio or social presence is a major plus
  • Photography and videography experience is beneficial

Why This Opportunity Is Unique

State of Soccer TV currently reaches a rapidly growing soccer audience with:

  • 95,000+ Instagram followers
  • 11,000+ YouTube subscribers

As part of this role, you will be featured across State of Soccer TV’s platforms and become one of the primary faces of our 2026 FIFA World Cup coverage.

This is an opportunity to build your personal brand, grow your on-camera experience, and gain exposure through one of the most exciting soccer media projects surrounding the World Cup.

Important Note

Because of the high-profile nature of World Cup coverage, applicants must already have extensive knowledge of global soccer.

If you do not actively follow the sport and understand international football culture, supporter communities, and the global game, you will not be considered for this role.

How to Apply

Please submit:

  • Resume
  • Links to your social media accounts
  • Examples of on-camera content or previous work
  • Portfolio/reel (if available)
  • Brief introduction explaining your soccer background and why you would be a great fit for this role

We are looking for passionate storytellers who can authentically capture the energy of the World Cup and connect with fans from around the world.
