Special Salary Information
Manpower Shortage Bonuses: Due to a critical shortage, new and current employees will be granted a temporary bonus placing them at step 6 of the salary range (resulting in approximately 28% on top of the base salary). This temporary bonus is in effect until June 30, 2026, or until it is determined that a shortage no longer exists, whichever happens sooner.
What You’ll Do:
Take on meaningful legal work in the defense of criminal cases while building the skills, experience, and courtroom judgment needed to grow in your career. You will rotate through a variety of developmental assignments that prepare you to handle misdemeanor cases and select felony matters as you advance.
Below are examples of duties:
- Represent clients in court during hearings, motions, negotiations, and trials.
- Interview clients, witnesses, families, and experts to gather key case information.
- Advise clients throughout the legal process and help them understand their options.
- Prepare strong criminal defense cases through legal research, evidence review, case strategy, and collaboration with defense teams.
Minimum Requirement
Be admitted with the California Bar Association to practice law in all courts of California.
Note: You must be willing to work any shift and in any Los Angeles County location and may be subject to transfer at any time.
