HR Intern

HR Internship

 

The Human Resources (HR) Intern will support the Human Resources department by assisting with HR operations, employee engagement initiatives, recruiting activities, onboarding processes, and HR compliance efforts. This role will work closely with the HR Manager and HR Generalists to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of human resources while contributing to projects that support employee experience, organizational culture, and HR administration.

 

Essential Duties

HR Administration & HRIS Support

  • Work closely with the HR Manager and HR Generalists to assist with HRIS data entry, employee record maintenance, and personnel file organization. 
  • Support the accuracy and confidentiality of employee records and HR documentation. 
  • Assist with processing employee paperwork and maintaining compliance-related documentation. 
  • Help prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, and tracking logs as needed.

 

Recruiting & Onboarding

  • Assist with recruiting activities including job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, and candidate communication. 
  • Support onboarding processes and help create a positive new hire experience. 
  • Assist with new hire orientation preparation, onboarding documentation, and training coordination. 
  • Help ensure onboarding tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

 

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Participate in employee engagement and workplace culture initiatives and events. 
  • Assist with planning and coordinating employee recognition activities, wellness programs, and team-building events. 
  • Support communication efforts related to employee programs and HR initiatives. 
  • Help gather employee feedback and assist with engagement-related projects.

 

Policy & Compliance Support 

  • Assist with policy review, updates, and distribution to employees as directed. 
  • Support HR compliance activities related to employment laws, company policies, and internal procedures. 
  • Help maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive employee information. 
  • Participate in HR audits and compliance documentation projects as needed.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with HR team members and other departments to support organizational goals and employee experience initiatives. 
  • Participate in HR meetings, projects, and departmental discussions. 
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department as needed.

 

Environment and Physical Activity

This role primarily operates in an office environment with occasional interaction in operational or production areas. Tasks may require extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and computer work. Occasional lifting of office materials or event supplies (up to 25 pounds) may be required.


 

Mental Demands

Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Must be able to manage multiple tasks, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.


 

Position Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, or a related field. 
  • Interest in human resources, employee engagement, recruiting, and organizational culture. 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). 
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Previous customer service, administrative, or office experience is a plus.
