Business Development Intern

Summer Business Development & Marketing Intern

Part-time, 10 hours/week | Summer 2026 | Private Education Company

We’re a growing tutoring company looking for a sharp, curious, organized intern to help with marketing, content, business development, and day-to-day growth projects.

This is a hands-on role for someone interested in education, entrepreneurship, marketing, operations, or small business growth. You’ll get a close look at how a growing company tries to scale: what works, what breaks, what needs to be built, and how ideas become actual systems, content, and campaigns.

What You’ll Work On

You may help with projects such as:

  • Social media support: drafting posts, organizing content ideas, identifying trends, repurposing existing material, and helping maintain a consistent posting schedule.
  • Website and content updates: helping write, edit, organize, and improve web pages, blog posts, tutor bios, service descriptions, and other marketing materials.
  • Market and competitor research: looking into local tutoring markets, test prep trends, parent/student needs, school calendars, and competitor positioning.
  • Business development support: helping identify partnership opportunities, outreach targets, referral sources, schools, parent groups, and community organizations.
  • Product development support: helping organize ideas for new tutoring programs, test prep offerings, student resources, worksheets, courses, or digital products.
  • Design and implementation support: helping turn rough ideas into polished materials, templates, landing pages, guides, slides, or internal documents.
  • Marketing operations: organizing files, updating spreadsheets, tracking projects, cleaning up content libraries, documenting processes, and generally helping make the company run more smoothly.

What You’ll Learn

You’ll get exposure to:

  • How a small education business attracts students and families
  • How service businesses think about branding, positioning, pricing, and customer experience
  • How marketing content gets planned, written, published, and improved
  • How new business ideas are tested before becoming formal offerings
  • How a founder/operator thinks through growth, delegation, systems, and scale

Who This Is Good For

This role is a good fit for someone who is:

  • Interested in marketing, entrepreneurship, education, writing, design, or operations
  • Organized and reliable
  • Comfortable working independently after being given direction
  • A good writer or willing to become a better one
  • Curious, resourceful, and not allergic to unglamorous but useful work
  • Able to take rough ideas and help turn them into something finished

Nice to Have

Experience with any of the following is helpful but not required:

  • Canva, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Notion, Squarespace, Wix, WordPress, or similar tools
  • Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, or other social platforms
  • Basic design sense
  • Writing, editing, tutoring, education, or test prep experience
