Williams & Helde Inc. (WH) is hiring three summer interns to join our Seattle‑based team for a 6‑week, hands‑on agency experience. Starts June 29!
Founded in 1969, WH is an independent marketing and communications agency built on long‑term relationships, thoughtful work, and a belief that strong brands earn preference by showing up in ways that are useful, credible, and welcome. We partner with what we call “awesome brands” which are organizations doing meaningful work and creating value in categories where trust matters.
This summer, we’re opening our doors to a small group of interns who want to learn how an agency really runs, build portfolio work, and gain exposure to the wonderful world of marketing communications.
The Program
- Duration: 6 weeks (starts June 29)
- Schedule: ~20 hours per week
- Location: Seattle, Ballard area (in office ~3 days per week)
- Compensation: $350/week stipend
Each intern will focus on a core discipline while gaining exposure to how work comes together across the agency.
Available Internship Tracks
1. Strategy Intern
Support brand and communications strategy work, including:
- Research and insight development
- Copy development and AI language training modules
- Audience and trend analysis
- Supporting strategic frameworks and briefs
2. PR & Publicity Intern
Work alongside our PR team on real client and agency programs:
- Media research and outreach support
- Writing and editing materials
- Working with content creators and influencers
- Campaign coordination and reporting and systems building and AI incorporation
- Writing blogs and using social media for business and promotion
3. Graphic Design Intern
Support creative and design execution:
- Developing visual assets across campaigns
- Assisting with concept development
- Supporting production workflows
What Makes This Program Different
This is not a shadowing internship.
You will:
- Work on real client projects (including the WH brand)
- Learn how strategy, creative, PR, and account teams collaborate
- Get exposure to AI tools and how they are shaping marketing and agency workflows
- Build portfolio‑ready work that reflects real agency standards
At the end of the program, you will leave with:
- Tangible work samples
- A clearer understanding of your craft in an agency environment
- A stronger sense of how your skills translate to client work
Top candidates may also be considered for future full‑time or part‑time opportunities.
Who Should Apply
We’re looking for people who are are already on their way to a career in advertising, must be over 21, with 2+ years on college level education:
- Curious, organized, and proactive
- Excited to learn by doing
- Interested in marketing, communications, and creative work
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast‑moving environment
No one is expected to know everything, but we expect you to show up, ask questions, and take ownership of your work.
