Location: Cincinnati, OH (Hybrid) 

FLSA Status: Exempt 

 

Position Summary 

The Inside Sales Representative supports commercial execution and customer engagement across assigned accounts within a chemical manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with Outside Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Product & Application Development (P&AD), Operations, and Finance to manage quoting, pricing, forecasting, and customer communication. 

This position is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals (0–3 years of experience) looking to develop foundational skills in commercial operations, pricing strategy, and customer account management. SAP system interaction for this role focuses on pricing management and maintenance. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Sales & Account Support 

Support assigned customer accounts by responding to inquiries and preparing quotations 

Partner with Outside Sales on pipeline tracking and customer engagement activities 

Assist with pricing administration and basic margin tracking 

Maintain communication with customers regarding product availability and timelines 

 

Order Alignment & Support 

Partner with Customer Service and Supply Chain to support order visibility and alignment 

Monitor open orders, shipments, and backorders; communicate updates to customers and internal teams 

Provide basic forecast input based on customer demand trends 

Support coordination across internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction 

 

Standard Workflow (SAP/CRM-Aligned) 

Receive customer inquiries or RFQs 

Coordinate with internal teams to confirm product specifications and timing 

Support pricing alignment with Sales/Commercial leadership 

Generate and submit quotations 

Maintain and update pricing in SAP (ECC/S4HANA) with guidance 

Track order progress and assist in resolving service, pricing, or logistics issues 

Maintain CRM updates and reporting cadence 

 

Qualifications 

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field preferred 

0–3 years of experience in inside sales, customer service, or commercial support (internships/co-ops applicable) 

Interest in chemical manufacturing or industrial environments 

Strong communication and organizational skills 

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
