Facilities Manager
At Brooklyn LAB, we believe that operational excellence is the foundation of educational excellence — and we're looking for a Facilities Manager who shares that conviction.
Brooklyn LAB is a small learning community where every scholar is known, supported, and challenged. Our schools are grounded in civics, leadership, and a deep commitment to preparing young people for college, careers, and civic life. Behind every great school day is a team that keeps the building running — and that's where you come in.
As Facilities Manager, you'll serve as the operational leader responsible for the maintenance, safety, and functionality of our physical spaces. You'll oversee building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and more), manage preventive maintenance schedules, lead facilities staff, coordinate vendors and contractors, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations. You'll also partner with school leadership on long-term facilities planning and budget management.
This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and deeply connected to our mission. When the building works, scholars and staff thrive.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent facilities management experience considered.
- Significant experience in facilities management, building operations, maintenance supervision, or school operations.
- Experience managing vendors, contractors, and facilities staff.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, safety compliance, and operational maintenance.
- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
If you're a facilities professional who wants your work to matter beyond the building — we'd love to hear from you. Apply directly through Brooklyn Lab's careers page by clicking here.
