Reports To: Associate Dean
Travel: 1-2 days per week
LOCATION: Sturgeon Bay
STANDARD HOURS: 40 Hours per week. 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Flexibility required to work evenings based on customer needs.
STARTING RATE OF PAY: $29.39 per hour
This position is limited term until December 31, 2027
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for oversight to the weld lab at the Sturgeon Bay Campus working with internal and external customers. Prepare materials for classroom and shop through safe and efficient practices. Responsible for preventative maintenance including repair and safe use of equipment. Support the Sturgeon Bay training team by efficiently procuring the supplies and equipment at the greatest value for the college while ensuring customer training needs are met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Work with internal staff and external customers to ensure training needs are met.
• Support the instructional process in Sturgeon Bay by preparing materials and equipment required for training.
• Ensure welding equipment in the lab operates and runs safely.
• Cut and grind weld test coupons to prepare for destructive testing.
• Order, manage, and maintain the proper inventory of shop equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Knowledge and use of various equipment such as marvel saws, plasma cutter, feeder boxes, welding gun assemblies, and material handling.
• Responsible for troubleshooting and repair of equipment to keep shops and storage areas operating safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Ability to fabricate and weld steel using GMAW & GTAW.
• Implement and maintain a 6S (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain, safety) work environment including classroom, shop, and storage room to maximize capacity.
• Pick up and deliver materials to appropriate locations.
• Drive forklift or other equipment in a safe and efficient manner with an emphasis on safety of personnel and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
• Associates Degree or Trades Apprenticeship in Maintenance, Welding, or manufacturing field.
• Three years of manufacturing or related welding experience required. One year of purchasing experience preferred. Weld test will be performed during the in-person interview.
• Microsoft Office Suite and Purchasing Software.
• Working knowledge of various hand tools and lab equipment.
• Must hold a valid driver's license and be insurable under the districts standard insurance policy terms.
• Ability to become forklift certified.

• Light Lifting: Capability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
