About REC

REC is a mobile app that helps people discover and recommend great local service professionals, including yoga instructors, fitness instructors, bartenders, nail technicians, golf beverage cart attendants, and other great people in the community.

Think of it like Yelp, but for people instead of places.

Role Overview

REC is looking for a friendly, outgoing, and reliable Local Events & Brand Ambassador Intern to help promote the app at local events, yoga studios, golf outings, community activations, and other in-person opportunities.

This is a great role for someone who enjoys meeting people, attending events, creating content, and helping grow a local startup brand.

Responsibilities

  • Represent REC at local events, yoga studios, golf outings, and community activations
  • Help set up and manage small promo tables with flyers, QR codes, cards, and swag
  • Encourage people to download the app and recommend their favorite service professionals
  • Help explain what REC is in a simple, friendly way
  • Assist with giveaways, QR code promotions, and event sign-ups
  • Capture photos/videos for Instagram and TikTok content when appropriate
  • Provide feedback on what messaging works best in person
  • Help identify local instructors, studios, events, and community opportunities

Ideal Candidate

  • Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable talking to people
  • Interested in marketing, events, social media, wellness, fitness, golf, or local businesses
  • Reliable, professional, and positive
  • Comfortable representing a startup brand in person
  • Good communication skills
  • Creative and willing to help with content ideas
  • Local to the Chicago suburbs preferred
  • Experience with Instagram/TikTok content is a plus, but not required
