First Steps Kent Communications Intern

Our community vision is that every young child in Kent County will enter kindergarten healthy and ready to succeed in school and life. First Steps Kent is working with our community partners to make that vision a reality.

Job Description and Duties:

Communications and marketing for First Steps Kent, the Ready by Five Early Childhood Millage, and the Mainspring Early Care Alliance. You will work with First Steps Kent’s Communications Director to develop overall communications strategies.

Some examples of other responsibilities will be:

  • Write articles, blog posts
  • Interview service providers and families
  • Public relations, press releases, media lists
  • Plan and implement communications campaigns
  • Track communications across channels
  • Social media
  • Newsletters, Enews; design and maintenance
  • Update website
  • Graphic design and marketing material development

Qualifications: Studying Advertising, PR, Communications, Marketing, or related field. Junior or senior year preferred. Knowledge of HubSpot, Monday.com, or Adobe Creative Cloud are a plus!

8-15 hours a week. Flexible Schedule. Hybrid Position.
