Compensation
$17.00/HR

 

The Human Resources Intern provides administrative and project support to the Human Resources and Benefits team, with a focus on maintaining employee records, supporting compliance activities, and assisting with seasonal HR projects.

 

Environmental Health and Safety

Adhere to all local, state, OSHA, MSHA and environmental regulations as outlined in the Employee Safe Work Guidelines booklet, Safety Rules sign-off sheet and any/all information provided by the Company, steel mill, or customer.

 

Responsibilities
The Human Resources Intern will:

  • Review and organize employee files to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with I-9 verification and filing, ensuring compliance with federal requirements
  • Maintain and update Human Resources electronic records
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including document collection and filing
  • Assist with data entry and tracking in HR systems and spreadsheets
  • Participate in special HR projects during the summer (e.g., file audits, record cleanup, process improvements, company picnic)
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR and Benefits team
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Skills
The ideal candidate will have:

  • High school graduate or currently enrolled in college (freshman or sophomore preferred), with interest in Human Resources or Business
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Copilot)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with confidential information
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage simple tasks independently
  • Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately
  • Valid driver’s license
