Medical Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring high-quality patient care. This position requires a blend of clinical and administrative skills, making it essential for the candidate to be adaptable and proactive in a fast-paced environment.

This is a fun, fast-paced environment, so we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running, has a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and be a part of the team. Experience working in a podiatry clinic is strongly preferred, but not necessarily required. We are willing to train someone who is eager to learn!

**This clinic specializes in the care of foot and ankle conditions, therefore candidate MUST be willing and able to assist in the treatment of foot and ankle conditions.**

Hours depend on provider schedules/availability but typically range from 24-32hrs/week.

Pay is based on experience. Hourly pay increases depending on level of experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
  • Work directly with patients during routine foot care visits, assisting with nail and callus care, and using specialized instruments (such as a Dremel) to safely smooth and reduce toenails as directed by the provider
  • Perform intake procedures, including taking patient histories and vital signs
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper equipment availability
  • Document patient information accurately in EHR systems
  • Support medical administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions
  • Ensure compliance with medical protocols, including ICD coding and basic life support procedures

Skills

  • Proficiency in medical administrative support functions and EHR systems
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient care principles
  • Ability to perform intake procedures effectively while demonstrating excellent patient service skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook
  • Familiarity with X-ray procedures is a plus
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
