Editorial Intern
Cottage Door Press is seeking an Editorial Intern to join our Toy and ELA team, copyediting and proofing children’s material. The ideal candidate will have experience in copyediting, and proofreading—preferably in children’s books, educational content, or electronic toy development. A background in creative writing, screenwriting, multimedia projects, or children’s education is a plus. Attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to work collaboratively under deadlines are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Copyedit and proofread manuscripts, storyboards, and videos
- Assist editors to download and review project assets
- Familiarization with licenses and brands
- Support editors in routing material to appropriate team members
- Learn and adhere to Cottage Door Press style guidelines
- Work on tight timelines with a positive, can-do attitude
Job Requirements
- College degree, preferably in Creative Writing, English.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style
- Experience juggling multiple projects, deadlines, and tasks
- Proficiency in Gmail and Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with ClickUp, Adobe Audition, After Effects, and ProTools is a plus
