Communication Specialist
DESCRIPTION
The Communication Specialist is responsible for clearly and effectively telling our organization’s story in a way that reflects the heartbeat of our mission and the powerful impact of this important work to all stakeholders to build trust, create reputation, and provide clarity of organization values and goals.
The ideal candidate can communicate clearly, tell stories, is a creative/artistic individual, has proven experience with social media, strong administrative skills, can execute a marketing vision to international students, and has a technical digital competency. Helpful qualities and skills include photography and video editing experience, a curiosity or interest in global cultures, a love for supporting teammates in work, comfortability with digital work, and can reveal hospitality digitally.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Email Communication
- Support ministry goals through managing, crafting, and sending mass correspondence on MailChimp.
- Responsibilities include creating email campaigns as assigned, writing engaging content, managing and cleaning subscriber lists, and analyzing engagement metrics like open and click rates
- Print Materials
- Execute the production of our four major printed projects each fiscal year (two newsletters, one annual report, and one year-end project) in collaboration with the Ministry Director.
- Update or create additional marketing materials as assigned like brochures, event flyers, remittance envelopes, etc.
- Online Presence
- Create and manage content for all digital platforms such as Website, Instagram, and WhatsApp and publish content as it is approved by the Ministry Director.
- Monitor user engagement on our social media channels and maintain an active and engaging Hospitality Center presence.
- Track and analyze data across platforms to continuously improve our online presence.
- Storytelling
- In collaboration with other staff, collect ministry stories shared by our community and submit them to ClickUp.
- Manage the ClickUp story bank on behalf of the ministry by refining story submissions and monitoring the use of our tagging system.
- Use and track the use of stories across our community.
REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience: 1–3+ years of related experience
Qualities: - Highly Missional. Able to articulate the Christian faith. Active member of a local church.
- Agreement with the Hospitality Center’s statement of faith and mission.
- Has a strong desire to use their gifts and talents to positively impact Christian ministry
- Loves the nations.
Required Skills: - Proficiency with social media platforms and graphic design (especially Canva)
- Strong, versatile writing and editing skills (for web, print, and social), critical thinking, and project management.
- Strong interpersonal and team skills, ability to work under deadlines, adaptability, and high attention to detail.
WORK SCHEDULE
- 2nd Saturday every month to attend our monthly Celebration Meals
- A few additional events throughout the year such as our annual fundraiser
- Week to week rhythm and schedule can be determined with the supervisor.
- Mostly onsite, with some offsite
COMPENSATION
- $40,0000
- 15 PTO Days, 2 Sabbatical Days, and 11 paid holidays
- Mileage reimbursement for work travel
- Flexible schedule
