SUMMARY:
The South Coast Educational Collaborative is looking for a driven intern to join our Facilities team in Swansea, MA. In this internship, you will work in a fast-paced environment gaining hands-on experience supporting operations, maintenance, and space management, often assisting with work orders, vendor coordination, and safety inspections. Duties include managing site logistics, organizing spaces, preparing classrooms and office spaces, and supporting administrative tasks to ensure functional environments. This role typically offers hands-on experience in project management and facility operations. This internship is designed to provide practical experience in a professional business environment while contributing to meaningful collaborative initiatives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently pursuing a degree in a relevant degree program (e.g., facilities management, engineering, business) is preferred but not required.
- Valid U.S. driver's license.
- Commitment to seven (7) hours per day, Monday through Friday (some weekends may be required).
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with good project management and time management skills
- Responsible, self-motivated, and proactive personality
- Ability to manage multiple projects with a can-do attitude
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to the needs of a changing student population.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds independently.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions due to outdoor tasks.
- Take and pass the online Ethics training and exam.
- Three references or two letters of recommendation is required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to work as a productive member of the instructional team to maximize student outcomes.
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Director of Facilities to complete general operational tasks.
- Support day-to-day facilities operations across the collaborative.
- Maintenance & Operations: Assist staff with minor repairs, painting, groundskeeping, and moving furniture/equipment.
- Safety & Compliance: Conduct inspections of district buildings to ensure safety, security, and environmental compliance.
- Administrative Support: Assist with processing work orders, manage data in software systems, update records, and assist with inventory management.
- Project Assistance: Support construction or renovation projects, including walking job sites and checking contractor compliance.
- Event Support: Assist with the setup and breakdown of collaborative events or community rentals
- Provide hands-on support to Facilities with maintenance and operational tasks.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization of common areas, storage spaces, and supply rooms.
- Perform basic grounds and property upkeep as needed.
- Develop positive relationships with employees and students.
- Other duties as required.

SALARY: $20 per hour
