Community Sales Representative
Process with a Purpose. Build a Career That Means Something.
Giv Local is the nation's only B Corp-certified merchant services provider. We help businesses process credit and debit cards — and uniquely, we donate 20% of our revenue to a local nonprofit chosen by each client, at no extra cost. Every transaction directly supports a community cause. Based in State College, Pennsylvania, we partner with community banks, credit unions, B Corps, and mission-driven small businesses who want their payments to create real impact.
We value drive over experience. If you've shown up, competed, and pushed yourself for something meaningful, you'll thrive here.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll identify businesses that are a great fit for Giv Local, connect with decision makers, and show them why choosing us benefits their community more than any other payment processor. Each day, you'll prospect, reach out to community banks, credit unions, B Corps, and mission-driven businesses, and run discovery calls to learn what matters to them. You'll present Giv Local's unique model, follow up with prospects, close deals, manage your pipeline, and track progress toward weekly goals. Every Friday, you submit your performance accountability & results report — no reminders needed.
This Role Is Built for You If:
- You have competed and demonstrated long-term discipline — sports, performing arts, debate, martial arts, military, or any arena with clear standards.
- You want your earnings to match your results.
- The mission matters to you — you want work that means something.
- You're coachable, self-driven, and take initiative.
- You're patient with results and build momentum even when success takes time.
- You handle rejection well, learning from every "no" without losing focus.
This Role Is Not for You If:
- You prefer an environment where daily tasks are defined for you.
- You need immediate results to stay motivated.
- You're uncomfortable being measured against visible performance metrics.
- You prefer indirect or infrequent feedback.
- You're primarily motivated by fixed compensation.
- You're not interested in connecting your work to a broader purpose.
We Specifically Want to Hear From People Who Have:
- Committed to something challenging over time and held themselves to a high standard
- Worked in roles serving others, solving problems, or operating in fast-paced environments
- Taken on responsibility even when it wasn't required
- Demonstrated resilience when results weren't immediate
- A genuine connection to community, service, or work with broader impact
No prior sales experience required. There is no single path into this role.
How to Apply
Submit your resume and a note — not a cover letter. Three to five sentences in your own voice explaining: what you have competed at or committed to, what made you apply to Giv Local specifically, and what a local nonprofit or community organization means to you personally. We evaluate whether the note is specific and whether it is yours.
