General Manager

General Manager – Tennessee RiverPlace (Full-Time)
Sales-Driven | Hands-On 

Tennessee RiverPlace is a 135-acre riverfront venue just outside Chattanooga. We host weddings, corporate retreats, conferences, and short-term rentals—and we are looking for someone to run the business.

This is not a passive management role. We are looking for a high-output operator who is equally comfortable closing a booking, answering emails at speed, and walking the property to make sure everything is right.

What You Will Be Responsible For

You will be responsible for driving revenue and ensuring flawless execution.

Sales & Growth (Primary Focus)

  • Actively generate bookings (corporate retreats, conferences, events, STVR stays)
  • Respond quickly and effectively to all inquiries (email, phone, platforms)
  • Conduct tours and close deals
  • Attend networking events and build relationships in the community
  • Continuously promote the brand and property in day-to-day interactions

Operations & Execution

  • Oversee event and guest experience from booking through completion
  • Coordinate and schedule housekeeping, maintenance, and on-site staff
  • Ensure property, guest houses, and event spaces are always guest-ready
  • Manage event logistics, layouts, and vendor coordination
  • Handle day-to-day problem solving without escalation

Administrative & Systems

  • Manage bookings across multiple platforms (events + short-term rentals)
  • Input and maintain accurate data across systems
  • Create invoices, contracts, and track payments
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date records
  • Monitor budget and expenses

Ownership Mentality

  • Do whatever needs to be done—no task is “beneath” this role
  • Maintain standards across every detail of the property and guest experience
  • Identify inefficiencies and fix them

Who We Are Looking For

  • Sales-minded and revenue-driven (this is not optional)
  • Comfortable working both strategically and tactically
  • Fast, responsive, and detail-oriented
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through
  • Comfortable managing multiple systems and platforms
  • Willing to be hands-on and solve problems in real time
  • Self-starter who does not need constant oversight

Preferred Experience:

  • Sales and/or marketing (required mindset, experience strongly preferred)
  • Hospitality, events, or property management
  • CRM/booking platforms, QuickBooks, or similar tools

Compensation

  • Base salary + performance incentives
  • Commission/percentage on corporate and business bookings
  • Upside tied directly to revenue growth

This role is designed for someone who wants to earn more by producing more. If you are driven, the earning potential is significant. If you are not, this role will not be a fit.

Schedule

  • Primarily Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM
  • Must be available for on-call rotation and event coverage as needed

Bottom Line

We are not looking for someone to “manage” this business—we are looking for someone to grow it, run it, and take ownership of it.
