Job Summary: As part of a lean, two-person HR & HSE team, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) plays a uniquely blended role that includes both high-volume operational HR work and strategic partnership. This is not an independent HR role. The HRBP will own daily operational tasks while maintaining regular communication with the Director of HR & HSE, discussing decisions involving employee relations, compliance, safety, or organizational impact. This is an onsite role reporting directly to the Director of HR & HSE
Essential Functions:
- Manage HRIS updates, employee data changes, file maintenance, and reporting.
- New hire paperwork, I‑9s, background checks, onboarding logistics, and orientations.
- Support benefit administration including enrollments, life events, and routine employee questions.
- Track leaves of absence, maintain compliance documentation, and manage routine correspondence.
- Partner on employee relations, investigations, and performance matters.
- Identify trends, anticipate needs, and recommend proactive HR solutions.
- Support managers with coaching, development, and organizational needs.
- Collaborate on HR initiatives, engagement efforts, and culture-building.
- Support full-cycle recruiting including postings, screening, interviews, and offer logistics.
- Partner with managers to clarify hiring needs and ensure a strong candidate experience.
- Help identify training needs and coordinate learning opportunities.
- Participate in employee engagement projects and recognition programs.
- Assist with safety initiatives, training coordination, and reporting.
- Maintain visibility across production and warehouse areas.
- Operate independently on routine transactional tasks.
- Keep the Director informed of issues, progress, and unusual situations.
- Discuss decisions involving employee relations, performance, investigations, policy interpretation, and safety.
- Seek alignment before acting on sensitive or precedent-setting matters.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required; HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years of HR experience required; experience in a generalist, HR coordinator, or HRBP support role preferred.”
- Experience in an HR role within a manufacturing environment preferred.
- SHRM‑CP preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Strong initiative, judgment, and confidentiality.
- Ability to manage transactional tasks while supporting strategic work.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently on routine tasks while maintaining consistent alignment and communication with the Director of HR & HSE.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate needs, identify potential issues early, and proactively bring forward thoughtful, well‑reasoned recommendations.
- Strong collaboration and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a small, two-person HR team that relies on communication and partnership.
- Balanced judgment and discernment — ability to objectively evaluate information, consider both employee and company perspectives, and arrive at fair, fact‑based conclusions.
- Ability to respectfully challenge assumptions and verify information without bias; understands that individual statements may not represent the full picture.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to quickly learn HRIS systems.
Fair Labor Standards Act Evaluation:
After careful evaluation it is determined that this job does fall under the overtime exemptions outlined in the Fair Labor Standards Act. This is an exempt position that is exempt from overtime requirements.
