Video Editor Intern – Adam Kinzinger

Compensation: $18/hour

Hours: 25 hours per week; must be available 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM ET daily, other hours flexible

About the Role

Former Congressman Adam Kinzinger is seeking a Video Editor to help produce and edit video content for his Substack newsletter, YouTube channel, and social media platforms. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape political video content reaching a large, national audience.

Responsibilities

  • Clip long-form videos (interviews, commentary, podcasts) into short-form content
  • Format clips for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and X
  • Search through past media and archival footage to find clips worth reposting
  • Add basic captions, titles, and graphics as needed
  • Stay current on political news and trending video formats

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of a video editing program (Premiere, Final Cut, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar)
  • Familiarity with vertical/short-form video best practices
  • Interest in politics, democracy, and current events
  • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to turn around edits quickly in a breaking-news environment
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote setting
  • Must be available daily from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM ET, other hours flexible
