CTR Group is seeking a Video Content Creator for an R&D Firm in the Newport News, VA area. Immediate opening and urgently hiring!

A Paid Student Internship, working 30 - 40 hours per week

Temp Assignment Dates: May 15th - August 3rd

 

Pay Rate: $18.12 per hour

 

SUMMARY:

We have a requirement for a short-form Video Content Creator- a temp assignment from May 15thto August 3rd, a paid internship and anticipated work schedule of 30-40 hours per week.

The following outlines the scope of work for temporary short-form video content creator to support the Firm's STEM workforce communications efforts during a critical summer staffing gap.

With a temporary reduction in internal capacity due to staff availability for indefinite military leave, this short-term mitigation will ensure continuity in storytelling, digital engagement and program visibility. This work is particularly important during peak summer activity for Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientists (WDTS) and STEM workforce programs, when student participation and programmatic milestones are at their highest.

The contractor will function as an embedded resource, working closely with the Communications and STEM workforce teams to capture, produce and distribute compelling short-form video content for Firm’s external communication channels, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X.

Project Goals

This project has four primary goals:

  • Maintain Communications Continuity: Ensure uninterrupted coverage of WDTS and STEM workforce programs during the summer months despite reduced internal staffing.
  • Capture Real-Time Program Impact: Document student experiences, events and milestones through high-quality, on-site video and occasional photo content.
  • Sustain Social Media Engagement: Maintain a consistent cadence of short-form video (e.g., reels) and supporting captions to drive engagement across platforms.
  • Support Performance Objectives: Avoid a decline in communications output that could negatively impact performance metrics, including PEMP-related outcomes.

Scope of Work

The temporary, part-time contractor will provide the following services:

Content Creation & Production

  • Capture on-site video footage of STEM workforce programs, events and activities
  • Produce short-form videos optimized for social media platforms (e.g., Instagram Reels, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Edit video content with attention to pacing, storytelling, branding and accessibility (captions)
  • Software Used: Adobe software: Premiere Pro
