Director of the Access to Justice Resource Center
The Access to Justice Resource Center (AJRC) is an innovative space dedicated to helping self-represented parties navigate the legal system by providing legal resources and information. The Director oversees the operations of the AJRC. The Director is responsible for the identification, coordination, and implementation of strategies, initiatives, and best practices to provide a fair, respectful, and dignified court experience for court users. The Director also manages interpretation services and handles requests from the public for ADA accommodations. The ideal candidate is expected to have a track record of success in promoting access to justice and the ability to work with a team of other legal service professionals.
The Director is expected to have or rapidly develop a thorough knowledge of court organization, office practices, and to make decisions dealing with the public and employees in collaboration with Court Administration. Information obtained during the performance of these duties may be confidential or private in nature. As a representative of the Circuit Court, it is imperative that a high degree of judgment, tact, and diplomacy be exercised, and a professional demeanor always maintained.
The specific tasks and essential functions of the position are subject to change as the position develops. The Director reports directly to the Court Administrator but is ultimately accountable to the County Administrative Judge.
