Regulatory Affairs Intern

Regulatory Affairs Internship - Must be local to Deerfield, IL

Position Overview:

Want an internship where you can use your STEM skills on work that helps medical devices stay available for patients? As a Regulatory Affairs Intern, you’ll jump into real projects that show you how products meet U.S. and global requirements—and how teams keep up as regulations evolve. You’ll research regulatory requirements, help document what they mean for the business (including product discontinuation activities), and support ongoing improvements to make processes clearer, faster, and more consistent. You’ll also contribute to U.S. medical device Registration & Listing work by reviewing data for accuracy across systems, mapping and optimizing processes (with opportunities to use AI and automation), and helping enhance internal tools, SharePoint sites, and procedures. Along the way, you’ll collaborate with Regulatory Affairs teammates and partner with groups like Quality and Operations—building practical experience, a stronger resume, and a clearer view of career paths in the medical device industry.

 

What you'll be doing:

Regulatory Intelligence & Research

  • Conduct regulatory research on U.S. and international medical product requirements 
  • Support research and documentation of regulatory requirements related to product discontinuation activities.
  • Assist in analyzing current processes and identifying opportunities to improve alignment with evolving regulations and guidance.
  • Assist in process and tool optimization supporting regulatory intelligence activities, inclusive of identifying opportunities to leverage AI.

 

US Medical Device Registration and Listing

  • Support review of US medical device registration details to ensure consistency between external and internal systems
  • Support process mapping and procedure assessment, leveraging use of AI and automation.
  • Research and optimize process for Cumulative Review.
  • Enhancement of internal functional tools, SharePoint sites, and procedures

 

What you'll Bring:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate STEM degree program (e.g., biomedical engineering, biology, chemistry, life sciences, health sciences, engineering, or related field)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills 
  • Ability to work effectively with documents, spreadsheets, and basic data systems 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
  • Proficiency using AI tools (Copilot, Chat GPT, Gemini)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Experience with PowerBI and PowerApps is an advantage.
