Licensed Veterinary Technician
Position Overview:
Our LVTs play a vital role in primarily small animal patient care, with opportunities to assist in a variety of areas including appointments, surgery, and diagnostics. While we are a mixed-animal practice, LVT involvement in large animal services is minimal and optional.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist veterinarians with exams, procedures, and client communication
- Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and laboratory diagnostics
- Monitor anesthesia and assist in surgical procedures
- Take and process digital radiographs
- Provide nursing care and patient treatments
- Educate clients on medications, treatments, and preventative care
- Maintain accurate medical records
Qualifications:
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (or eligible for licensure) in New York State
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
