Market Research Intern

Edge Research is looking for a self-motivated, energetic individual who is interested in learning about the marketing research industry. This is a paid, entry-level internship position with both project-related and administrative responsibilities. Candidates need to be detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle a variety of tasks over the course of a workweek.   

 

Immediate intern functions will include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Testing the logic of programmed quantitative surveys
  • Reviewing and proofing data presentations, crosstabulations, screeners and questionnaire drafts for grammar, clarity, etc.
  • Client list-building to assist with recruiting for qualitative efforts
  • Assisting Field and Analyst teams with In-Depth-Interviews (IDIs) and Focus Groups
  • Summarizing focus group exercises
  • Reviewing and updating transcripts
  • Joining client calls, meetings, and presentations

 

Candidates will gain experience in many aspects of quantitative and qualitative research, and the position will be particularly compelling to individuals interested in understanding and analyzing consumer and B2B attitudes, values, and behaviors in verticals such as:  finance, healthcare, education, communications, technology, nonprofits/associations, and/or conservation.

 

Ideal Intern Skills:

  • Desire to be a key member of a growing small business
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for problem-solving
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel; familiarity with SPSS and/or R a plus
  • Coursework in statistics a plus
  • Past work or internship experience is a plus

We currently have a hybrid work arrangement. Candidates who are local to the Washington, DC area will be prioritized and expected to work from the Edge Research office 2-3 days per week (specific number of days to be determined upon the start date) and can work remotely the remaining weekdays.
