Marketing Video Intern

About LifeSource

LifeSource Water Systems is a family-owned company that invented whole-house water filtration in 1984. We've protected 250,000+ homes and are trusted by premier properties like Hyatt Hotels and LA Country Club. We're based in Pasadena, CA, and we're scaling our brand presence — that's where you come in.

The Role

We're hiring a Marketing Video Intern to help us build a steady stream of video content. You'll be in the field with our install teams, in customers' homes capturing testimonials, and at HQ shooting and editing short-form social content. This is a hands-on production role — not a desk job.

You'll work directly with our marketing team and report to the CMO. The work you produce will go live on our channels, in paid ads, and into training programs used company-wide.

What You'll Do

  • Customer testimonials: Travel to customer homes, set up lighting and audio, conduct interviews, and capture B-roll of installed systems.
  • Short-form social: Shoot, edit, and publish vertical video for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. Hooks, captions, trending audio — the whole pipeline.
  • Installation training videos: Document install processes on jobsites and turn raw footage into clear, repeatable training modules for our service teams.
  • Editing & post: Cut, color, sound mix, caption, and export final files. Manage and organize raw footage.
  • Content planning: Pitch content ideas weekly. Stay on top of platform trends and what's working.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program (any major — film, marketing, communications, and journalism are common fits, but not required)
  • Hands-on experience with both DSLR/mirrorless cameras AND phone-shot vertical content
  • Working knowledge of editing software (Premiere, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut)
  • A reel, portfolio, or social handles you've actively posted on
  • Reliable transportation — you'll be traveling to customer homes and jobsites in the LA area
  • Strong communication skills — you'll be in customers' homes representing the brand

Nice to Have

  • Experience shooting interviews or testimonial content
  • A personal TikTok or Instagram account that has gotten real reach
  • Audio capture skills — lavalier mics, boom, sound design
  • Motion graphics or basic After Effects
  • Photography skills for product and lifestyle stills

Logistics

  • Hours: ~20 hours per week. Flexible around class schedule.
  • Location: Hybrid. Time split between our Pasadena HQ and field shoots at customer homes / install sites in the greater LA area.
  • Pay: $20/hour
  • Duration: Summer with potential to extend to the fall semester
  • Equipment: Your own setup is preferred. If not available, we will provide camera, audio, and lighting gear.

Why This Internship

  • Real production volume — you'll ship dozens of videos, not one capstone project
  • Direct access to the CMO and a small marketing team where your ideas get tested fast
  • Build a portfolio across testimonials, social, and corporate training — three different formats
  • Work for a 40-year-old family business that's growing toward national scale

How to Apply

Apply through Handshake with:

  • Resume
  • A link to your reel, portfolio, or social handles (this matters more than a cover letter)
  • A short note (2–3 sentences) telling us your favorite piece of video content right now and why it works
