AI Intern — Interlock Systems Boston, MA (In-person) | Summer 2025
About Interlock Interlock is a pre-seed AI startup built out of Harvard that automates the translation layer between design and manufacturing. We ingest unstructured design packets — PDFs, CAD files, BOMs, drawings — and convert them into shop-floor-ready manufacturing data. We're deploying our first paid pilots with defense and industrial contract manufacturers this summer.
The role You'll work directly with the founders building and shipping core product. This is not a busywork internship — you'll own real features that go in front of paying customers.
What you'll work on
- Building and iterating on our document ingestion and structured data extraction pipeline
- Frontend and backend features across our web application
- AI-powered workflows using the Anthropic API
- ERP/MES data mapping and integration tooling
What we're looking for
- Strong fundamentals in JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one backend framework
- Comfort working across the stack — frontend to database
- Experience with or strong interest in LLM/AI APIs
- Bias toward shipping. We move fast and expect you to own your work end to end
- Must have existing US work authorization (CPT, OPT, or otherwise) — we are not able to offer visa sponsorship
Nice to have
- Exposure to manufacturing, CAD, or industrial software
- Relevant work experience
- Familiarity with document parsing or unstructured data
