Senior Civil Engineering Specialist

Senior Civil Engineering Specialist – Contract Administration, Project Controls & Insurance (Remote + Travel)

Salary: $105,000+ per year (commensurate with experience)
Location: Remote, with required travel to construction sites

About the Role

We are establishing a dedicated team of 40 senior civil engineering professionals to work remotely and travel to construction sites.

Your responsibilities will span five critical areas:

Area Specific Duties
Insurance Tracking Monitor Operational Cover, Machinery Breakdown, Contractor’s All Risk (CAR), Erection All Risk (EAR) – track renewals, validate coverage, flag lapses
Contract Administration Maintain contract records, track amendments, ensure compliance with terms
Project Controls Monitor project schedules, milestones, and progress against baselines
Cost Engineering Track budgets, actual costs, forecasts, and cost variances
Contract Payment Processing Verify milestone completion, process progress payments, manage retainage and lien waivers
Core mission: Ensure every subcontractor, supplier, and worker is attended to—correctly insured, properly tracked, and paid on time.

Key Responsibilities
Insurance (4 types)
Validate active Operational Cover before site work begins

Track Machinery Breakdown insurance for all heavy equipment

Ensure Contractor’s All Risk (CAR) and Erection All Risk (EAR) policies are current and sufficient

Document insurance compliance in company databases

Contract Administration
Maintain organized records of all prime contracts and subcontracts

Track contract changes, addendums, and change orders

Ensure all parties adhere to contractual terms

Project Controls
Monitor project schedules and critical paths

Track progress against milestones

Flag delays or deviations to the VP

Cost Engineering
Track actual costs vs. budgeted costs

Prepare cost forecasts and variance reports

Identify cost overruns early

Contract Payment Processing
Verify milestone completion before authorizing payments

Process progress billings, retainage releases, and final payments

Maintain payment logs and lien waiver records

Work Arrangement
Remote – work from home

Travel – to construction sites as needed (expenses paid)

Tools – company databases, spreadsheets, document control systems

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory)

7+ years of professional civil engineering experience post-graduation

Demonstrated experience in at least three of the five areas:

Construction insurance (CAR, EAR, Machinery Breakdown, Operational Cover)

Contract administration

Project controls

Cost engineering

Contract payment processing

Comfortable working remotely with databases and tracking systems

Willing and able to travel to construction sites

Legally authorized to work for Geo Service INC without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineering (PE) license

5+ years experience in all five core areas

Previous role as: Project Controls Engineer, Cost Engineer, Contract Administrator, or Construction Insurance Coordinator

Proficiency with Procore, Primavera P6, SAP, or similar platforms
