Position Summary
As a Lead Amusement Park Ride Operator/Supervisor, you’ll play a hands-on role in managing and supporting our team. This is not a desk job – you’ll be actively involved in the day-to-day operations, from training employees and enforcing rules to ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our rides and facilities. We’re looking for individuals who lead by example, have a strong work ethic, and are ready to tackle any task, big or small, to keep the park running at its best. This is NOT just a supervisory role -- you will spend most of your time running a ride and cleaning.
This role requires flexibility, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in all weather conditions. If you’re someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being on your feet, this could be the perfect fit for you!
Must be available to work weekends and all summer holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise Daily Operations: Ensure efficiency and adherence to company policies across multiple areas of the park.
- Train and Support Staff: Teach employees how to operate rides, enforce rules, and maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Perform Ride Inspections: Conduct pre-operation checks and ensure rides are functioning properly.
- Enforce Policies: Uphold dress codes, prohibit phone usage while running rides, and address employee performance issues as needed. Must be willing to correct employees in an effective fashion.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Oversee and participate in cleaning ride areas, cars, and other park facilities.
- Manage Breaks: Coordinate and provide breaks for team members.
- Handle Small Customer Issues: Answer customer questions and settle small disputes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Language Skills: Must speak and understand English.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, walk frequently, and work in all weather conditions (rain, heat, wind, etc.).
- Attention to Detail: Recognize areas that need cleaning or organizing and take initiative to address them.
- Leadership Skills: Comfortable training and managing employees, enforcing rules, and addressing performance concerns.
- Professionalism: Ability to work without texting or using your phone for at least 4 hours at a time.
- Team Player: Willing to perform any task you ask of others, from cleaning to organizing.
Experience and Compensation
- Previous supervisory or retail management experience is preferred but not required.
- Most positions start at $15.20/hour, with the potential for an end-of-season bonus. Key leadership roles may offer a slightly higher hourly rate, which will be discussed during the interview process.
