Graphic Design Intern
Company Description
Echelon is a sports marketing and experiential agency working with global brands and sports properties. We support sponsorship strategy, partnership management, experiential marketing, and corporate hospitality for clients across professional sports and major events, including NFL programming, Premier League activations, and national conferences.
The Role
We are hiring a Graphic Design Intern to support creative output across Echelon and client accounts.
This is a production-focused role for designers with strong fundamentals and experience applying brand systems across different formats. You will be expected to produce high-quality work on deadline and collaborate with internal teams and external partners. You will work on live accounts from day one. A portfolio is required.
What You'll Do
Creative & Brand Design
- Translate brand guidelines into decks, sponsorship materials, templates, and other client deliverables
- Design case studies, presentations, and internal collateral
Event Design
- Create concepts and visual systems for events and activations
- Develop mockups, signage, wayfinding, and event visualization assets
Paid Media Design
- Design assets for paid campaigns, including social graphics, display ads, and partnership creative
- Support basic motion or animated assets when needed
Digitial Design
- Create content for social, web, and email
- Support campaign concepts across digital channels
Internal Communications
- Apply and maintain Echelon brand standards across materials
- Support development of decks, merchandise, and marketing collateral
What You'll Learn
Interns participate in structured training sessions led by senior staff. Topics include client work exposure, media relations, content strategy for live events, brand design, and tools used in sports marketing.
What We're Looking For
Must-haves:
- Junior or senior studying graphic design or a related field
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and at least two additional Adobe Creative Suite tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or After Effects). Portfolio required
- Strong design fundamentals (layout, typography, hierarchy, branding)
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Canva
- Understanding of social platforms and content formats
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Located near major airports to support live event work
Strong Differentiators:
- Animation or motion design experience (After Effects or similar)
- Comfortable collaborating directly with stakeholders or clients
- Spanish language skills
- Interest in sports, media, or pop culture
- Familiarity with paid media platforms (Meta Ads Manager, Google, TikTok Ads)
Position Details
- Commitment: Up to 25 hours/week (two full days + 4 hrs for calls and projects)
- Flexible scheduling for class conflicts
- Hybrid: remote-first with occasional in-person requirements for events and activations.
- $16/hr Paid Internship
