Investment Intern

Location: Charlotte, NC

Format: Full-time, in-person

Roan Equity is a Charlotte-based growth equity firm focused on partnering with high-growth B2B software companies. We are looking for a Summer 2026 Investment Intern to join our team and gain hands-on exposure to growth equity investing.
 

This role is designed for a motivated student who is curious about software, business models, markets, and how companies scale. The intern will work directly with the investment team across sourcing, market research, company analysis, due diligence, and internal investment materials.
 

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct market mapping and thematic research across B2B software categories
  • Identify and evaluate companies that fit Roan’s investment focus
  • Analyze business models, growth drivers, financial performance, and unit economics
  • Support diligence efforts on new investment opportunities
  • Help prepare internal investment memos, market maps, and presentation materials
  • Use AI tools to improve research workflows and synthesize information efficiently
  • Support select strategic projects related to portfolio companies and broader investment themes
     

What We’re Looking For

  • Current undergraduate student pursuing a degree in finance, business, economics, computer science, or a related field
  • Strong interest in software, private markets, and growth investing
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to turn research into clear conclusions
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Comfort using AI-enabled tools for research and productivity
  • High attention to detail and strong written communication
  • Self-starter who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in-person in Charlotte for the duration of the internship
