Head Of Circulation

Open Position: Head of Circulation 

The Bayville Free Library is seeking a collaborative and service-oriented Head of Circulation to lead our circulation department and ensure an excellent patron experience in a welcoming community library. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Oversees daily circulation operations. 

● Performs opening/closing procedures and other operational duties as needed. ● Provides reference and readers’ advisory services to library patrons. 

● Assists patrons with placing holds and checking in and out materials. 

● Supervises, trains, and supports circulation staff. 

● Reviews monthly circulation reports and makes recommendations for the purchasing of materials. 

● Creates displays. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

● Excellent customer service experience. 

● Strong communication and problem-solving skills. 

● Bachelor’s Degree required. 

PREFERRED SKILLS 

● Experience working in a library. 

● Knowledge of MS Word and Excel. 

● Supervisory or leadership experience. 

● Experience facilitating a book club, preferred but not required. 

SCHEDULE 

Full-time – 35 hours/week, Monday–Friday schedule with occasional evening and Sunday hours as needed. 

Salary range: $40,000-42,000
