R&D Operations Intern

Position Title: R&D Operations Intern

Reports to: R&D Head of Base Business

Location: Hybrid–Remote (Office located in Hackensack, NJ)

Employment Type: Full-time intern (40 hrs per week)

Internship Duration: Summer 2026 (June – August)

Position Summary:

The R&D Operations Intern will support the Research & Development Operations team in maintaining accurate, organized, and compliant product and raw material data within Evermark’s SpecRight product lifecycle management (PLM) system.

This internship provides hands-on exposure to the operational backbone of product development within the personal care industry. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners, including raw material suppliers and contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs), to support data accuracy. Additional learning opportunities may include exposure to product manufacturing environments and networking across departments such as R&D, Marketing, and Supply Chain to better understand the innovation lifecycle of personal care products.

This role is ideal for a highly detail-oriented individual interested in gaining hands-on experience in the operational and technical foundation of personal care product lifecycle management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

· Support cleanup and harmonization of raw material and formula records within the SpecRight PLM system

· Follow up with raw material suppliers and/or Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) on technical documentation, including specifications, safety data sheets, and regulatory information

· Assist in organizing and maintaining technical documentation in alignment with company standards

· Track and document progress

· Support continuous improvement initiatives related to R&D operations and data management

· Participate in cross-functional meetings to gain exposure to portfolio management and product lifecycle processes

· Support additional R&D Operations activities as assigned

Required Qualifications:

· Currently pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, Biology, Engineering, or a related technical field

· Strong attention to detail

· Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Comfortable communicating professionally with internal teams and external partners

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Lists

· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment

· Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in Research & Development, Product Development, Regulatory Affairs, or Technical Operations in the personal care, cosmetics, or consumer goods industry

 

Preferred Qualifications:

· Prior internship, laboratory, or academic experience involving data management, technical documentation, or formulation-related coursework

· Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems such as SpecRight or similar database platforms

· Coursework or exposure related to cosmetic science, formulation, manufacturing, or regulatory processes

· Experience organizing large datasets or working with structured technical information
