Book Launch Marketing Intern

Decision Intelligence: Why Evidence Fails and How Leaders Win the Room is a forthcoming leadership book by Nicholas Johnson, publishing this fall. We are looking for a motivated marketing associate to help build awareness and drive sales in the months leading up to and following the launch. You will own meaningful pieces of the marketing strategy and see the direct results of your work.

What you will work on:

01. Building and managing an outreach list for advance reader copies (ARCs): reviewers, bloggers, podcast hosts, and influencers in the leadership space

02. Researching and pitching relevant podcasts, newsletters, and media outlets for coverage and guest opportunities

03. Creating and scheduling social media content across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, X, and other relevant platforms

What we are looking for:

· A student or recent graduate in marketing, communications, business, or a related field

· Strong written communication skills, you will be creating a lot of social content

· Self-directed and organized, this role requires managing your own time and priorities

· Genuine interest in leadership, business, or nonfiction publishing

· Prior experience with social media management or email outreach is a plus, not a requirement

Compensation:

This role includes a percentage of net royalties for the duration of the arrangement. Exact terms are discussed during the interview. This is a genuine revenue-sharing structure. If the book does well, you share in that. We will be transparent about realistic expectations from the start.

What you will get out of it:

Real portfolio work on a published book with a clear audience and measurable results. Direct access to the author and visibility into how a book launch actually works from the inside. A reference and letter of recommendation upon completion. This is the kind of project that stands out in an interview.
