Social Media Intern
Social Media Marketing Intern
Go Fwd Media · Part-time, On-site (Santa Clara, CA) · Paid hourly
The role
You'll be the social media right hand to a full-stack marketing agency that runs content, paid, PR, and brand for clients across law, health, hospitality, pet care, and our own in-house brands. One week you're writing thumb-stopping hooks for a law firm's "behind the sign" docu-series. The next, you're working with creative team on Reels for a pet food brand or pulling a competitor teardown for a SaaS client. It's a mix and you get to practice all your skills under one roof!
What you'll actually do
- Draft, schedule, and publish social content across IG, TikTok, LinkedIn, and X for 3–5 client accounts
- Shoot and edit short-form video (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) — on set and at the desk
- Pull weekly analytics and translate numbers into "here's what we do next"
- Monitor trends, competitor moves, and cultural moments worth jumping on
- Engage with communities in each client's voice (reply, DM, comment — on-brand, always)
- Contribute to content strategy docs, campaign briefs, and creative brainstorms
What we're looking for
- Currently pursuing or recently finished a degree in Marketing, Communications, Film, or something adjacent
- You actually use social media — not just "have accounts." You know why a hook works.
- Solid writing chops. You can match tone across a law firm and a pet treat brand without sounding like either one is wearing the wrong outfit…and you're not reliant on AI.
- Comfortable with tools like Canva.
Why this beats other internships
- Real client work, real deliverables, real feedback — not coffee runs
- Exposure to the full marketing stack (strategy, paid, PR, automation, production) — not just "post the thing"
- Direct mentorship from senior strategists and creatives
- Path to a paid part-time or full-time role for the right person
To apply: Skip your resume but send 2–3 examples of social content you've made (doesn't have to be for a brand — your own account counts). Write a short note about why you submitted each!
Internships are typically a 3 month rotation, permanent jobs are offered to stand out interns.
