Compensation: $5,000 stipend
About the Role
Save Cantonese is looking for a Social Media Intern focused on cultural documentation and storytelling. This role centers on capturing and sharing the richness of Cantonese community life, with a focus on Chinatown and broader Cantonese-speaking communities.
What You’ll Do
- Document community life through photos, videos, and interviews
- Create short-form social media content highlighting culture and traditions
- Capture and share stories from community events and everyday life
- Help shape narratives that reflect the diversity and resilience of Cantonese communities
Qualifications
- Current college student or recent graduate
- Interest in the Cantonese community, culture, or storytelling
- Interest in social media and content creation
- Comfortable creating photo/video content with skills in journalism, interviewing, and narrative storytelling across digital platforms (editing is a plus)
- Curious, respectful, and able to engage with community members
- Cantonese language skills are a plus but not required
- Ability to attend potential in-person meetings in New York City, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio,
Additional Requirement
- Must be able to attend weekly team meetings on Wednesdays from 5:30–6:30 PM PT (via Zoom)
