3L Semester In Practice Intern

3L SEMESTER IN PRACTICE STUDENTS 

The Greene County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is committed to working as ministers of justice to ensure that justice is achieved fairly, effectively and efficiently through advocacy and community leadership. We are looking for second year and third year law students with excellent credentials who are interested in criminal prosecution and the pursuit of justice and who want to get real life courtroom experiences practicing under Rule 13. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO 

Prosecute real cases under Rule 13 supervision—from your first week Handle bond hearings, preliminary hearings, motions, and trials Work on cases spanning the full spectrum of criminal law, from misdemeanors to serious felonies Conduct witness interviews and prepare witnesses for testimony Draft charging documents, motions, and legal memoranda Collaborate with law enforcement and victim advocates Make judgment calls that directly impact public safety and justice

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 

2L or 3L law students eligible for practice under Missouri Supreme Court Rule 13 Strong academic credentials and excellent legal writing skills Demonstrated commitment to public service and the pursuit of justice Effective oral advocacy and communication abilities Team-oriented mindset with integrity and professionalism Desire to take on responsibility and learn through real-world experience

Minimum experience/skills: 

Eligibility for practice under Rule 13  Interest in public service, public safety, and the pursuit of justice  Desire and ability to effectively work as a member of a team  Excellent legal writing/oral advocacy
