The mission of the Ed Brown Society is to celebrate the rich history of Thoroughbred racing, and to create opportunities for all young people to gain industry exposure, training and experience.
The Ed Brown Scholars & Fellows Program offers scholarships, internships and professional development opportunities to students who demonstrate interest, skills and commitment to becoming professionals in all aspects of the equine industry.
We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic New York students to join our program. We offer internships for various business operations roles, including Marketing, Sales, Human Resources (HR), Information Technology (IT), Accounting, and Finance.
As an Ed Brown Scholar or Fellow, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the day-to-day operations with the New York Racing Association at the new Belmont Park. Our internship program is designed to provide valuable exposure to the practical aspects of these crucial departments, allowing you to develop essential skills and knowledge in a real-world business setting.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in a business relevant field (e.g., Communications, Human Resources, Information Technology, Accounting, Finance), or recently graduated.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with relevant software applications or programming languages (for IT internship).
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (for Accounting and Finance internships).
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
