The Advancement Coordinator (AC) plays a vital role in the success of The STEM
Connection (TSC) by providing coordination, communications, and administrative
support to the Advancement team and the organization’s efforts to secure funding and strengthen stakeholder relations.
TSC is a non-profit organization that engages youth in STEM principles through accessible, nature-related experiences with a commitment to those who are underrepresented in STEM careers. TSC offers experiential STEM programming for youth both in person and virtually, fueling dreams and inspiring futures in STEM. In collaboration with community partners, we deliver award-winning, relevant services that empower and impact youth for today and tomorrow. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily operations of TSC’s Advancement Team to meet or exceed development and programmatic metrics.
- Provide administrative support in the planning and execution of the annual
Advancement Plan. - Maintain accurate records by updating actions, notes, and reports in the donor management database to document the Advancement team's activities.
- Communicate TSC’s mission, programmatic impact, and advancement
opportunities to key stakeholders through personalized correspondence, gift acknowledgments, and annual campaign initiatives. - Support TSC’s approach to long-term, relational fundraising strategy by
representing TSC at third-party community events, peer groups, and TSC
stakeholder opportunities, networking to connect and cultivate potential
partnerships. - Assist in the coordination of fundraising and other stakeholder engagement events.
- Collaborate with the Director of Advancement to maintain consistency of brand and voice through all communication channels.
- Contribute to the overall success of TSC’s mission and vision by performing other duties as assigned.

- Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides);
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage projects successfully
- Candidates must maintain a high level of confidentiality and attention to detail
- The ability to act independently is essential
Education and/or Experience
- Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated success on relevant projects and fundraising experience is desired
- Successful completion of a background check, Safeguarding Youth Training, and CPR
- Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) software skills preferred.
Must master and become proficient in the use of the donor management
database (Bloomerang) and the graphic design tool (Canva).
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Position based in Indianapolis, IN
- Highly collaborative work environment in a shared barn office space, and regular outdoor work in natural settings
- Meetings and tasks are conducted in varied spaces, including a barn, outdoor shelters, a yurt, and walking trails year-round
- The barn office includes a friendly resident cat who roams freely and is part of the team. Candidates with allergies or pet sensitivities should be aware
- A multi-functional workspace requires close working quarters with colleagues during certain weather or programming needs
- The barn workspace is frequently reconfigured to meet organizational needs
- Occasional evening and weekend hours as required to support the organization’s mission
- Enclosed footwear is required (no sandals, heels, crocs) when on site; athletic shoes or hiking boots are preferred
- Occasionally expected to lift up to 40 pounds
- Position requires navigation of gravel, rough nature trails, and fields
- Working conditions will involve exposure to varying noise levels, outdoor
temperatures (both high and low, depending on the season), and direct sunlight - The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

Salary Range: $38,500-$41,500
