AI Strategy Intern
About Beckons
Beckons (formerly Baillie Lodges) is a collection of luxury experiential lodges across remote and iconic destinations in Australia, New Zealand, Chile, and Canada, backed by KSL Capital Partners. Our mission is to create extraordinary, nature-immersive guest experiences at some of the most remarkable properties on the planet. The M&A and Strategy team identifies, evaluates, and executes on acquisition and development opportunities that expand the Beckons portfolio.
Role Overview
Beckons is in the early stages of scaling artificial intelligence across the organization, and this internship is a unique opportunity to be at the center of that effort. As the AI Strategy & Operations Intern, you will work cross-functionally with teams across the business to identify, pilot, and implement AI-driven solutions that streamline workflows, enhance decision-making, and unlock new efficiencies. Reporting to the U.S. Strategy team, you will play a hands-on role in shaping how AI is adopted enterprise-wide, while also supporting ad hoc strategic and operational projects as they arise.
Key Responsibilities

- Research, evaluate, and recommend AI platforms, models, and integrations suited to Beckons' specific business needs and scale.
- Design and execute pilot projects that demonstrate the value of AI solutions, including building prototypes, running tests, and documenting outcomes.
- Develop use-case documentation, playbooks, and training materials to support AI adoption across teams.
- Monitor emerging AI trends, tools, and best practices relevant to hospitality, private equity, and corporate strategy.
- Support the Strategy team on ad hoc analytical, research, and operational projects as needed.
- Present findings and recommendations to leadership, translating technical concepts into clear business language.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools and platforms (e.g., large language models, automation frameworks, data analysis tools) in academic, professional, or personal projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business challenges into technical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Intellectual curiosity and a genuine enthusiasm for the evolving AI landscape.
- Interest in hospitality, luxury brands, private equity, or corporate strategy is a plus but not required.
What You'll Gain
- Direct exposure to AI strategy at a high-growth portfolio company backed by a leading private equity firm.
- Cross-functional collaboration with senior leaders in M&A, operations, finance, and marketing.
- The opportunity to shape how an organization adopts and scales AI from the ground up.
- A meaningful body of work and tangible deliverables to showcase in your career.
