Videographer Summer Internship at Fluffy Feather Farm
Location: On site at Fluffy Feather Farm, Hebron IL
Reports to: Chief Videographer
Duration: Summer internship (dates flexible; full-time preferred)
Compensation: Paid internship; $16-19/hr depending on qualifications
Role overview
Join Fluffy Feather Farm’s media team to help grow our audience through compelling video storytelling. You will work directly under the Chief Videographer and Editor, contributing to concepting, shooting, and editing short-form and long-form video across social platforms. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and ideal for a candidate with a strong portfolio, creative instincts, and high energy who wants real production experience on location.
Key responsibilities
- Assist on shoots: set up cameras, lights, audio; manage gear; run B-roll and secondary camera.
- Camera operation: shoot interviews, farm life sequences, product demos, and social clips.
- Editing: assemble rough cuts, create social-ready edits, add motion graphics and sound design.
- Creative input: pitch concepts, storyboards, and short-form ideas tailored to TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and longer YouTube content.
- Asset management: ingest, organize, and archive footage; maintain production logs.
- On-site collaboration: coordinate with farm staff, talent, and the chief videographer to meet creative and scheduling needs.
- Performance tracking: help review video performance metrics and iterate on creative approaches.
Must-have qualifications
- Portfolio: strong reel demonstrating storytelling, camera skills, and editing.
- Technical skills: familiarity with DSLR/mirrorless cameras, Smartphone cameras, basic lighting, and on-camera audio.
- Editing software: proficiency in Premiere Pro. Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve acceptable.
- Creative instincts: ability to generate ideas that translate to short-form social success.
- Energy and reliability: punctual, proactive, and comfortable working outdoors and around animals.
- On-site availability: able to work full days at our farm.
Nice-to-have skills
- Motion graphics experience (After Effects or similar).
- Drone operation and FAA-compliant experience.
- Basic color grading skills.
