The Business

We manage a residential real estate investment portfolio across multiple markets, with active leasing and ongoing acquisition activity, and are concurrently building a data- and technology-driven operating platform to support scale, efficiency, and growth.

As the portfolio grows, maintaining leasing velocity, financial accuracy, and clean documentation is critical. This role works closely with the core operator on overall portfolio execution, and requires both operational execution capability and financial data literacy — including ownership of a proprietary financial tracking and reporting system from day one.

What You Will Own

This role is responsible for keeping operations correct, complete, and on track across the portfolio — serving as the home-office execution lead for the business:

  • Moving leasing cycles from application through move-in without gaps
  • Executing and managing workflows across tools and systems (spreadsheets, document systems, basic web/forms, property management tools) to keep data current
  • Coordinating with property managers to ensure information across systems is accurate and consistent
  • Maintaining financial and business records that are accurate, consistent, and audit-ready
  • Owning the portfolio's financial data layer, including transaction categorization, classification, and reporting
  • Monitoring portfolio activity through reports and dashboards — flagging exceptions and escalating issues
  • Tracking open items across the portfolio and driving them to resolution

Priorities will evolve over time; part of the role is developing judgment on what to prioritize and driving it to completion.

What We’re Looking For

Eligibility: Junior/senior undergraduates or graduate students (Class of 2025–2027), or candidates with prior professional experience. All candidates must have prior experience personally owning structured workflows, records, or documents.

  • Background in business, finance, real estate, accounting, law, or similar
  • Strong with tools and systems — able to use, adapt, and improve workflows across platforms
  • Excel proficiency at a functional level — pivot tables, structured data, financial models, and macros/formulas
  • Exceptional attention to detail — especially with numbers, documents, and structured data
  • Strong written communication; able to coordinate clearly across multiple stakeholders
  • Experience — academic or professional — where accuracy and follow-through had real consequences for others

Prior exposure to bookkeeping, real estate or property management is a strong signal — but not required.

Why This Role Is Attractive

  • Work directly with the owner to help run and scale a multi-market real estate portfolio
  • Learn how to hold a business together as it grows — across operations, records, and performance
  • Gain exposure to how revenue, expenses, and execution are managed in real time
  • Learn how to identify and implement technology and workflows that drive real efficiency and competitive edge
  • Flexible, part-time role with increasing ownership and responsibility

To Apply

Please send a resume covering your coursework and relevant experience, your interest in real estate operations and financial records, and one example where you owned an end-to-end workflow involving financial, legal, or operational responsibility — and what the outcome was.
