This full‑time Budget Analyst role supports how the City plans, funds, and delivers services that matter to residents. What you’ll do

  • Support the City’s annual budget process by helping prepare, analyze, and publish the budget, ensuring departments have the resources they need to operate effectively.
  • Monitor spending and revenue throughout the year by conducting quarterly reviews that help leaders stay on track and make informed adjustments.
  • Serve as a fiscal partner to assigned departments, providing clear budget guidance and helping them understand funding options and constraints.
  • Analyze data to evaluate programs and operations, identifying trends, efficiencies, and opportunities to improve how City resources are used.
  • Respond to information and research requests from the City Manager, Mayor, City Council, and departments, delivering timely and accurate insights that support decision‑making.
  • Review funding‑related requests and proposals, including ordinance requests, project plans, and Position Review Committee submissions, to confirm accuracy and funding availability.

What you’ll bring

  • A Master’s degree in public administration, business administration, finance, economics, urban or regional planning, organizational development, project management, geography, or a related field
    OR
    A Bachelor’s degree plus one year of professional experience in public or business administration, municipal or corporate finance, accounting, research, planning, project or program management, or GIS analytics.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data and financial information.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, especially when explaining complex information.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Interest in public service and how budgeting supports organizational goals.

May 2026 graduates will be considered. Preference may be given to candidates with degrees in Finance, Economics, or Public Administration.
