This intern position will support field verification of nominated trees across Tennessee and assist with species identification, tree measurements, and public engagement.
Preferred Skills
- Strong tree identification skills, especially native Tennessee species
- Familiarity with dendrology and tree measurement methods
- Ability to work outdoors in varied terrain and weather
- Interest in forestry, arboriculture, and field data collection
- Strong communication skills for working with landowners and the public
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and measuring tree species in the field
- Record tree condition, location, and site notes
- Support outreach events and educational programming
- Assist with photo documentation and storytelling of notable trees
