Job Description

Job Title: FMOS/ Ops Co Op                                                            Date:  April 2026

Reports To: Manufacturing Manager

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated FMOS Co-Op to join our team on-site for 3-4 months, focusing on continuous improvement in operations. You will gain hands-on experience supporting projects that enhance efficiency, optimize workflows, and improve production processes. The ideal candidate embodies FMD’s core values: Integrity, Velocity, and Teamwork, and demonstrates a strong understanding of operational processes and continuous improvement principles.

 

Responsibilities

  • Apply problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset to support operational projects and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of improvement initiatives.
  • Exhibit strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and maintain focus on project goals.
  • Analyze workflows and demonstrate an understanding of operational efficiency and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Participate in hands-on activities to execute and sustain improvement projects.

 

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a degree program in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of process analysis tools or software is a plus.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with others.
  • Demonstrates a proactive, adaptable, and learning-oriented mindset.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing and process improvement principles is preferred.
  • Must work on-site during the co-op term.

 

Note: This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirement, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship. Acceptable proof of US Citizenship is a US Passport, US Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate.
