Position Summary

Reporting to the Development Director, the Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for crafting and executing strategic communications to engage donors, increase support for the organization and market St. Luke’s programs to the community. Be the storyteller! 

 

Relationships and Contacts

Within the organization: initiates and maintains close working relationships with the Development Director, Development staff and other St. Luke’s team members. 

 

Outside the organization: initiates and maintains frequent and close working relationships with St. Luke’s supporters and other constituents. 

 

Position Responsibilities

Strategic Donor Communications & Content Creation

  • Develop and execute donor-centered communication strategies to strengthen stewardship, increase retention, and support donor acquisition.
  • Write and edit compelling appeals, impact reports, and fundraising campaign materials that clearly communicate the mission and impact of St. Luke’s.
  • Produce monthly e-newsletters for donors and supporters, and monthly Food Pantry updates for clients.
  • Collaborate with the Development team to customize communications for individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
  • Create content for all print and digital materials related to fundraising events, including invitations, sponsorship packets, programs, and presentations.
  • Build and maintain a content library of organizational talking points, stories, statistics, photography, and video assets for consistent use across the organization.
  • Partner with Community Support Services and Child Development Center teams to highlight program impact, success stories, and key updates for external audiences.

Marketing & Branding

  • Identify and implement new strategies to increase brand visibility and audience engagement.
  • Ensure consistent application of St. Luke’s brand identity across all platforms and materials.
  • Serve as brand steward, maintaining alignment with the organization’s mission, values, and voice.
  • Develop targeted marketing strategies in collaboration with program teams to support specific goals while ensuring cohesive messaging across the organization.
  • Establish a system to track and evaluate marketing and advertising efforts.
  • Maintain an inventory of branded materials and stationery.

Social Media & Digital Engagement

  • Manage a comprehensive content calendar for digital channels, including social media, email marketing, and the website.
  • Create dynamic content (graphics, videos, stories, etc.) to drive engagement and expand the organization’s digital presence.
  • Monitor analytics to assess performance, inform content strategy, and report on key metrics.
  • Maintain and update the organization’s website, including layout, written content, and multimedia features.

Development Team Support

  • Collaborate with the Development Director and key staff to plan and execute annual events, including the fundraising breakfast and the Toy Store.
  • Provide communications and marketing support for additional events and programs as needed.
  • Participate in team-wide development efforts, including large-scale mailings and donor engagement projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the organization’s mission.

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in nonprofit communications, marketing, or related field.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with an emphasis on storytelling and donor engagement.
  • Experience managing digital platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Meta Business Suite, etc.).
  • Experience managing digital platforms (e.g., Emma, Canva, Adobe Cloud, etc.).
  • Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Graphic design and/or video editing experience a plus.
  • A passion for the mission and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to communicate with peers/general public.
  • Job performance will require the ability to move throughout the building as well as sit or remain stationary for extended periods of time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to talk or hear, sit, stand, walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste or smell.
  • Ability to move 25 pounds.

 

Other Requirements

 

Position requires incumbent to have a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance and a clear driving record for the last three years. In addition, the candidate must be able to pass a drug test and have a clear background check.
