Job Description
The Software Engineer Traineeship is a 16-month structured program designed for individuals with little to no prior experience in software engineering who are eager to launch a career in technology.
The program begins with an intensive 18-week, full-time bootcamp, providing classroom-style instruction focused on Java development. Trainees will build both foundational and advanced technical skills required to succeed in a professional engineering environment.
Following the bootcamp, trainees will transition into 12 months of on-the-job training, where they will gain hands-on experience within one of the organization’s technology teams. During this phase, participants will receive mentorship from experienced engineers, ongoing technical training, and professional development support.
Assignments and project work will be aligned with individual strengths, interests, and business needs
Key Responsibilities
- Participate fully in the 18-week technical training bootcamp
- Develop proficiency in Java programming and core software engineering principles
- Apply learned skills to real world projects during the on the job training phase
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design, develop, and test software solutions
- Engage in mentorship sessions, technical workshops, and career development activities
- Demonstrate continuous learning, adaptability, and problem-solving capabilities
Qualifications
- Not currently enrolled in, or have not completed, a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- Candidates from non-technical or alternative educational backgrounds are encouraged to apply
- Basic analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in software engineering
- Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced, structured environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be available to work on-site in San Francisco, CA
