HealthForce Kentucky – Owensboro, KY is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to developing pipelines and pathways for P-12 and postsecondary students to enter healthcare professions throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

HealthForce Kentucky, in partnership with Owensboro Community and Technical College, is seeking a qualified and motivated individual for the position of Marketing/Communication Specialist. This role will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

This position employs a variety of communication, sales, and marketing methods in areas related to public relations, preparing crisis communications, internal communications, executive communications, social media, advertising/digital marketing, recruitment materials, develop lead generations, visits sites and work with customers to schedule events, and Strategic Engagement Management plans/communications to support the organization’s goals. 

Essential duties and responsibilities: 
The duties/responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: 

  • Generate leads and follow-up with contacts, promote the program, and engage potential customers to schedule events.
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with HealthForce Team and interface with multiple organizations. 
  • Research and translate complex subject matters to produce content for fact sheets, brochures, articles, newspapers, videos, digital signage, and other internal/external communications. 
  • Track analytics of website and digital traffic.
  • Monitor, organize, update and inventory marketing and communication materials.
  • Extensive travel is up to 75%; overnight stays up to 50% of the time. Home most weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Perform duties with expert knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures. 
  • Proactively recognize business needs and impact of issue at hand; identifies and implements new creative solutions, (both short/long term) that may extend beyond assigned area.
  • Autonomy in decision-making for daily activities; ability to be a self-starter, operate independently, provide strategic initiative with management. May provide general guidance, mentorship, or indirect supervision to colleagues. Provide site visits to promote program awareness and engagement of potential customers.
  • Communicate directly with program leadership; expected to provide direction to external contacts. Must work cooperatively and collaboratively with others. 
  • Responsible for task assignment and coordination. Apply institutional policies and procedures. 

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, communication or similar with six (6) years of relevant work experience or equivalent. 

Master’s degree and eight (8) years of relevant experience is preferred. 

Valid, unincumbered driver’s license is required.
