Intern Job Description
Title: Healthcare Management Intern
- Work alongside the intake team to help collect patient information, process insurance, and create claims
- Research and stay up-to-date with Medicare and State regulations for durable medical equipment
- Manage orders and required documentation from physician’s and appropriate disciplines
- Assist with office coordination for patient care
- Engage with potential clients to understand their needs and tailor product offerings accordingly while maintaining records of customer interactions and transactions
Learning Opportunities Provided
- Interns will have the opportunity to learn day-to-day operations of business management in the medical field
- Observe and participate in meetings to better understand each discipline and how they work together to create efficiency throughout the company
- Learn about healthcare regulations and compliance in the home medical equipment industry
- Connect with different facilities and doctor’s offices to better serve and help their patients
- Learn and adapt to a new database software
Intern Requirements/Responsibilities
- Major in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, and/or related fields
- Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong written, verbal, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week
- A desire to bring an innovative and fresh perspective to Affordable Medical Supplies
- Experience with handling insurance
Compensation: Starting between $12 - $14/hr (part-time)
Duration: 10-12weeks
- Start: 6/1/26
- End: 8/10/26 - 8/24/26
